Jorge Thomas is the Co-Founder of Umanium, a Mexico-only Employer of Record (EOR) specialist headquartered in Mexico. Umanium rebuilt its operational structure to obtain REPSE registration after Mexico’s 2021 outsourcing reform restricted how companies can engage workers through third parties, and shifted its commercial focus toward the international market as the domestic outsourcing landscape contracted. Today, most of Umanium’s clients are based abroad, including the wave of US, Canadian, and Chinese investors entering Mexico since 2023. The business operates a representative office in China to serve the manufacturing and automotive investment boom that has reshaped Mexico’s industrial base.
