Specialisation: Brazilian Labour & Employment Law, Executive Compensation, Employer of Record (EOR) Compliance

Drielle Mariah Amate Matta is a partner in the Labour and Employment practice at Montgomery, a Sao Paulo-based law firm that advises multinational companies doing business in Brazil. She specialises in individual and collective labour law, executive compensation, labour advisory, and labour litigation, with a particular focus on helping international companies navigate Brazilian employment structures.

At Employsome, Drielle contributes expert legal analysis on Brazilian employment law, Employer of Record compliance, and labour litigation risks to help international companies make informed decisions about building teams in Brazil.

Background

Drielle was admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/SP) in 2010 and has worked with leading Brazilian law firms throughout her career, including Mattos Filho (as junior associate) and Motta, Fernandes Rocha Advogados (as senior associate), before joining Montgomery where she progressed from director to senior associate to partner. She holds a bachelor’s degree from PUC-SP and postgraduates in Business and Labour and Employment Law from Fundacao Getulio Vargas (FGV).

Drielle co-authored the widely cited IBA article “Legal Implications of Engaging an Employer of Record in Brazil“, one of the only independent legal analyses examining whether EOR arrangements hold up under Brazilian labour law. She also co-authored the chapter on Air Crew in the Elgar Concise Encyclopedia of Aviation Law, covering the intersection of employment and aviation regulation.

Her practice covers the full range of employment law matters that foreign companies face when hiring in Brazil: CLT employment contracts, INSS social security obligations, 13th salary requirements, collective bargaining, terminations, and the legal risks of intermediary employment structures including EOR.
